With reference to your letter of the 27th Ultimo, respecting the supply of Medicines for the Government Civil Hospital at Hong Kong; I beg to state, for the information of Earl Grey, that in the selection of supply of Medicines required for the use of the Army, care is taken to have the best possible Guarantee that Medicines of the first quality only be furnished. I should not be justified, from any information I possess, to offer any observations either in favor of or against the employment of Messrs Baillie Brothers.
